Storage Unit 

The Storage Unit is used to keep goods safe in the warehouse. Its primary function is to provide organized space for storing items securely and keeping track of inventory in the warehouse. In this guide, you'll learn how to create and manage a storage unit in the ERP system.

Steps to Create a Storage Unit

  1. Navigate to the Warehouse Master Module.
  2. Click on the Storage Unit submodule to open the storage unit creation page.
     

Selecting a Storage Unit Type

On the storage unit creation page, you'll see three types of storage units:

  • Rack
  • Bin
  • Pellet

Select the type of storage unit you want to create and proceed to enter the required details.

Entering Storage Unit Details

Fill in the following fields to create the storage unit:

  • Storage Unit Barcode: Unique barcode for identifying the storage unit.
  • Storage Unit Number: Unique number for the storage unit.
  • Unit: Specify the unit of measurement.
  • Count: Total number of items stored in the unit.
  • Maximum Weight: The maximum weight capacity of the unit.
  • Quantity: Number of items in the storage unit.
  • Location Type: Also known as the storage type, previously created in the system.

Selecting Inventory Category

Select the appropriate inventory category for the material in the storage unit, such as:

  • Damaged
  • Fresh
  • Raw Product
  • Finished Goods
  • Under Process
  • Under Development

You can also add a description for the storage unit. Once all information is entered, click Save to successfully create the storage unit.

Managing Storage Units

After the storage unit is created, a page will display details like:

  • Storage Unit Barcode
  • Date
  • Unit
  • Storage Type
  • Weight
  • Capacity
  • Volume
  • Count
  • Location Type

Parallel to the listed details, there are three dots providing additional options:

  • Edit: Update the information for the storage unit.
  • Print Sticker: Print a label that includes the product details, barcode, category, and storage information.
  • Delete: Remove the storage unit from the system.
     

Uploading and Exporting Storage Unit Data

You can upload storage unit data in bulk through an Excel file using the bulk upload option. Additionally, you can export all storage unit data by clicking on the Export XLS button, which will download the data in an Excel format.
